For my birthday, my children gave me a tablet, and from my grandchildren, I received wireless headphones. Now, I can talk to them via video link at any time. I continue to watch my favourite movies and TV shows on the plane or train. Sitting in the yard until the evening, finishing reading a book, is another thing I can do now.
I remember my grandmother well. I spent all weekends and part of the summer holidays in her yard. And I always liked to watch other grandparents gather together in the evenings, talk, sing songs, play chess and checkers. Children and grandchildren also joined them.
Now, going out into the courtyard of my house, I see a similar picture: warm communication of neighbours, funny children's games and laughter, sports tournaments, board games in our wonderful café. My husband and I often have grandchildren coming over, who are happy to spend time with local children. It immediately feels as good as it was in my happy childhood.
