When I entered St. Petersburg State University for engineering-oriented computer science, my parents decided to change the flat and move to Vasilevsky Island. They bought a studio for me and a two-bed flat for themselves in new houses on the alluvium.
At first, I was worried about how I would cope on my own. It turned out to be simple because everything I needed was within the block. I don't go to supermarkets – we have stores around the corner on the ground floors. There is a restaurant where I can have lunch. For coffee and a sandwich, I go to a cafe in the courtyard.
I thought my parents would come visit me every day, but we see each other a couple of times a week. They found themselves new hobbies in the Neighbourhood centre. Mum finally bought the Pomeranian she dreamed of. When I'm preparing myself for the university in the morning, I see them walking from my window.
I really like that the yard is spacious and has its own playground. I go out there alone, or with the friends to play basketball. Vasilievsky Island is also great! Here, it's nice to ride a bike, or sit with friends in the “Sevkabel Port”.
When starting an adult life, it's great to live in a new house. I’m glad that my parents chose alluvium. Thanks to them, I have such a cool start in life!
