The chess club of the Neighbourhood centre

Chess turned out to be one of the most popular games among the residents of the quarter “Svetliy mir “Ya-Romantik...”. The studio of the Neighbourhood centre is becoming a strong community.

Irina Martynova, a founder and a permanent head of the chess studio, conducts classes for children aged 5 to 14 years. Classes are held in small groups, which allows the teacher to pay enough attention to each student.

Not only do the children of the studio comprehend the subtleties of intellectual play in the home ground of the quarter, but they also participate in city competitions. In January, Irina's students sat down at the boards together with their rivals at a citywide tournament.

Additionally, informal meetings are held in the Neighbourhood centre, where you can play games, meet new people, and communicate. In October 2023, another big seasonal tournament took place, while in December, the head of the studio organised a bright holiday in the "Chess Kingdom" with a quiz, contests, and, of course, chess competitions.

We kindly remind you that the chess studio classes are held on Wednesdays and Fridays for the age groups: 5–7 years old, 7–10 years old, and 7–14 years old, while all the amateur and professional players are also invited to participate in chess tournaments.
