Foreign languages classes

The Neighbourhood Centre schedule of the quarter “Svetliy mir “Ya-Romantik...” includes regular language classes in English and Chinese.

Our young teacher, Pavel Fadeev, continues to teach English for the youngest residents aged 3 to 5 years. The kids, who started studying last year, are already reading simple words and making up sentences. No one is sitting at their desks: the kids move a lot and sing. The game format of classes helps preschoolers to maintain concentration for a longer time. The Russian language is used minimally.

As for Chinese, it was started by schoolchildren over the age of 10 and adults together with a native speaker, Tina Liang, a teacher with eight years of experience. It all started with master classes in Chinese calligraphy: the group studied the meaning and sound of hieroglyphs, learned how to draw them with ink on rice paper. From February 3, the adult group meets regularly on weekends. Classes with a native speaker will help develop conversational skills, get used to correct pronunciation, and immerse yourself in the cultural environment of the country.
